Zechuan Zhang is a Chinese painter and calligrapher living in Los Angeles, California. It has been more than 30 years since he began learning calligraphy at the age of 7, and started painting at age 12. He have received prodigious training in Chinese painting and calligraphy, which has built the foundation for his artwork. He moved to Los Angeles in 1995 to pursue his interest in modern art and innovation.

The influence of his time in both China and the U.S. are evident in his artwork. His style is a unique fusion of both Chinese and Western culture; eastern traditional brush painting combined with western abstractive expressionism. He often seeks innovative ways to express himself while keeping the essential qualities and characteristics found in traditional Chinese paintings. His unique style is highly acclaimed by art connoisseurs and fellow artists.

His works have long been sought after in both Chinese and American art fields, and collected by many art collectors, galleries and museums, including Oscar winner Barry Morrow, Broadway musical playwright Eaton Magoon, the Pacific Asia Museum and the Art Museum of Qingdao Binghai University. His published works include an exceptionally long roll of 20 meters depicting Chinese Calligraphy "The Three-Character Primer of Film," "Chinese Contemporary Artist Zhang Zechuan," and "The Modern Paintings and Calligraphies of Zechuan Zhang."

張澤川 7歲學書、12歲習畫, 朝研夕究、沉醉在水墨天地 裡已30馀年。在旅美18年的 藝術探索中,張澤川融合美 國當代藝術,在水墨的構圖 和色彩上大膽創新,以獨特 的藝術想像力和創造力開創 獨具一格的現代水墨。從東 方到西方, 從西方再回到東 方, 張澤川內心不停得在這 兩極之間對話, 從和諧到矛盾 到融合統一, 張 澤川一直在思想深處行走, 在藝術 的高處雲遊。
